Celebrating the Netherlands-Russia-year, KLIK! presents a special on Russian Animation, in collaboration with the Hermitage Amsterdam, The Amsterdamsche Fonds, The NLRF2013 and the International festival of Animation Arts “Multivision”.

Into Russian Animation

Learn more about Russian animation during a talk by animation expert Timo Linsenmaier.

Timo Linsenmaier's research interest lies in the history and aesthetics of Soviet and Russian animation. His MA thesis covered the development of Soviet animation after 1960. Linsenmaier has regularly given talks at conferences and published several articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has been awarded the Society for Animation Studies' McLaren/Lambert Essay Award in 2006.

KLIK! Presents: Multi-Bridge Animation Night

2 Cities – 2 Festivals – 2 Bridges – 1 Summer night & a shared love for animation.

At 11 p.m., on the night of July 19th KLIK! and Multivision will simultaneously show animated shorts on the Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug) in Amsterdam and the Trinity Bridge (Troitskiy Most) in St. Petersburg.

During this special summer event, the competitive program of animated shorts from all over the world will be presented on gigantic screens to an excited audience in both cities.

The films for the competition are selected by Multivision in collaboration with KLIK!.

The 5th edition of the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival will take place from the 7th until the 11th of November in its spectacular new location: EYE, the new filmmuseum! The finest animated films will be served up, along with the most eloquent masterclasses, theme programs on violence in animation, a plethora of special guests for all your Q&A needs, parties that will become legendary, music to soothe your ears, special stereoscopic animation, a lot of pleasant surprises and much, much more.

 

KLIK! Voordekunst Crowdfunding Closing Event

The future of KLIK! looks so shiny that we’re wearing shades – thanks to your awesomeness, our target amount at Voordekunst.nl has almost been reached! In order to celebrate and to have one last push towards our crowdfunding goal, we’re throwing a cosy get-together July 1st, at Amsterdams funnest pub De Nieuwe Anita.

De Nieuwe Anita was the very first location of KLIK! and got the festival it’s patented party spirit which is still there today. So it’s only fitting that this will be the location for the exclusive preview on what’s coming up in the 5th edition at EYE in November this year… That’s right, our KLIK! programmers have put together a small sneak peek, garnished with some animated delight and drenched in a sauce of cinematic enthusiasm as they will personally illuminate their choices.

But that’s not all! Prepare for an Epic Cupcake Bake-Off as two of our KLIK! crewmembers fight for your vote in a battle of sugar, spice and everything nice! Are you going to support the Cool Blue Team Daniela or the Sultry Pink Team Lesley? You can decide in the Baking Battle of the Century! Besides delicious cupcakes, we’ll be serving snacks, we’ll have music to soothe your ears and we’ll have a couple of surprises up our sleeves as well.
