The Cinema – Kriterion
Set up right after WWII by members of the Dutch Resistance, this colourful cinema has been run by students for over sixty years, combining historical resonance with a youthful vibe. Kriterion is our main festival hub, the epicentre of the festival fun.
Route Description The Kriterion cinema and the Faculty of Behavioural Science of the University of Amsterdam (UVA) are both located in the Roetersstraat which can be reached either by tram or metro. Leave the tram or metro at Weesperplein. When you get out you’re in the Sarphatistraat. Continue your walk into the Sarphatistraat with the intersection with the Wibautstraat behind you. Take the first left, and you’ll find yourself in the Roetersstraat. You’ll find Kriterion (nr. 170) on your left, across the road from the building of the UvA. Getting tickets
Where/ when to get them? Individual tickets Reservations for individual screenings can be made by telephone from September 1st: Prices Tickets are available per screening, per day or for the entire festival. There's a online discount for early-birds, so get them while they are hot! KLIK! Screening The program may be subject to change. Sold tickets will not be taken back, unless a screening is cancelled. HOTELS AND ACCOMMODATION So, have you decided to come and stay in Amsterdam during the festival, but you don’t have a couch to crash on? Don’t worry!
