Agreement with KLIK!’s 2014 Terms and Conditions
The submittor states that he/she is in possession of the rights of the submitted work, clears KLIK! of all liabilities from third parties and grants KLIK! the right to screen the submitted works. Participation in KLIK!’s competitions implies acceptance of these regulations and decisions made by the management and board. KLIK! deserves the rights to exceptions to the regulations if there are extreme circumstances that require so.
Competitions & prizes
Films can be submitted in the following categories:
– Animated Shorts (films created outside of educational programs) competing for a €1000 cash prize & award
– Animated Student Shorts (films finished while its creator was enrolled in an educational program) competing for a €750 cash prize & award
– Commissioned animation (commissioned by a third party) competing for a €500 cash prize & award
– Animated Music Video competing for a €500 cash prize & award
– Animated Documentary competing for a €500 cash prize & award
All submitted works will if eligible also be in the running for Best Political Short (competing for a €500 cash prize & award), Best Animated Short from an Emerging Country (competing for a €500 cash prize & award), the Amsterdam Audience Award, and the Young Amsterdam Audience Award.
Conditions for the submitted film
No entry fee is charged to submit an animation to KLIK!’s competitions. Per filmmaker a maximum of 3 seperate films may submitted, which must all confirm to our Procedure.
A film is eligible when:
– it contains a substantial amount of animation of any technique;
– its length does not exceed 25 minutes;
– it was finished after January 1st, 2014;
– has not been submitted to KLIK!’s previous competitions.
A film will be considered by the festival’s appointed selection committee once the online form has been filled out and the selection copy has arrived at the KLIK! office before the 1st of July, 2015.
In case the film is selected for festival screening, the submitter must follow the technical procedure and criteria that applies to the master copy.
Usage of the submitted materials
KLIK! is granted the right to screen the submitted films during the festival period (27 October – 1 November 2015) at the festival location(s) in Amsterdam without the paying of any screening fees.
To do justice to their non-narrative and fragmented nature, KLIK! will screen music videos outside of cinemas to entertain audiences in lively public spaces.
Possible extra screenings:
– KLIK! is granted the right to show submitted films in a Best of KLIK! program/tour after the festival with a maximum of 3 screenings. The submittor will be notified about this.
– In case the submitted film is nominated for an extra award (like the Mopti Audience Award), a maximum of 1 extra screening per location may take place around the festival in these cities/countries.
KLIK! tries to show as many as possible of the films received. Work that’s not selected for the competitions might be screened in other programs. The submittor will be notified about this.
KLIK! is granted the right to use the submitted films and film stills for promotional purposes on the internet, television and other media. An excerpt of max. 10% of the length of each submitted film may be used for that purpose. For private press viewings KLIK! has the possibility to screen your full film as a preview (to the press members only).
The information provided by the participant in the entry form will be used for festival publications. Catalogue writings are entirely at the discretion of the festival. KLIK! accepts no liability in the event that its publications reproduce inaccuracies in submitted materials.
In case of faulty projection, the festival cannot be held liable for immaterial damages suffered by the director, producer or distributor.
